The drive down the Interamericana from San José to the port town of Puntarenas takes approx 2 hours. In Puntarenas you take the ferry to Paquera ( 1 1/2 Std.). The ferry trip is a beautiful anticipation of your vacation on the Nicoya Peninsula. The gulf is dotted with islands and you will see crowds of maritime birds.

Once in Paquera you continue with your car via Tambor and Cobano to Santa Teresa (approx 1 1/2 hours).

At the road intersection of Santa Teresa / Mal Pais (El Cruze) turn to the right and drive 3 km through the village of Santa Teresa. The dance hall La Lora Amarilla is a local landmark, so you can ask for the way. A few meters before the "Lora", at the right side of "Griss Inn" is a small road which leads to Villa Cacique. A private, concrete driveway goes up to our hill.
